Nativus cares about our biodiversity and promotes the vision for building a green and sustainable city.

Quito is a city that has suffered rapid growth, green space reduction and overuse of introduced plant species. This has caused the displacement of animals and vegetation native to the area. It has become a grey and dull city with reduced wildlife. Furthermore, it has created a reality in which new generations would not have the chance to witness a butterfly or hummingbird in flight. A place like this experiences flooding, polluted air and unbearable heat on a daily basis. The quality of life of its citizens has, sadly, become poorer.

We believe the introduction of native plants in the city will solve many of these problems. The creation of functional and sustainable spaces, which demand fewer resources, will give our children the opportunity to experience nature in the city.
